Ok so I have to be honest here, I have loved the paper bag style of shorts and pants on just about everyone. But, I have been a little hesitant to try it on myself. I can’t really give you a reason why other than I just wasn’t sure if it was my style.
Welp, it DEFINITELY is!! This style is so flattering. I love that it’s high waisted, which benefits everybody! It also shows off your curves and really gives you a waist.
The first time I tried this style was earlier this year, see here, and have been on the hunt for a shorts version to wear this Summer. Well I found them and I’m so excited. Best part is they are denim shorts. Jeans short honestly go with just about any and everything!
I know they seem a little bit like a specialty, trendy style short…and that maybe, but they are also very versatile. You can wear them super casual for errands, runs to the park or dress them up for a lunch or happy hour.
I have put together 10 different looks to style them. Best part, you can take these ideas and utilize what you have in your closet. Which is what I did. I’ll link as much exact items as I can, but will also share similar pieces.
10 Ways To Style Paper Bag Shorts
T-shirt and Cardigan – this is such classic, whether it’s paper bag shorts, or regular jean shorts!
Tank and slides – simple, cute and classic! just my kind of style.
Tee under a button up – such a cute layered look. Perfect for those cooler mornings and evenings. I actually used a plaid dress I’ve had for a few years.
Bodysuit – show your shape and curves with a fitted bodysuit and dress it up with wedge or block heel.
Graphic tee and sneakers – this one is my jam. I could wear this everyday…it’s perfect for mom life!
Printed Cami and sandals – perfect for a lunch date with friends or happy hour on the patio.
Kimono – this is the perfect look to take you from beach or pool to dinner. Pair it with sandals for the day and pump at night.
T-shirt and mules – another great classic look. Pairing a graphic tee makes it a little more than just a tee and shorts.
Halter and jacket – This one is actually a long sports bra crop I ordered from Fabletics. Great fo working out, or wearing out and about. I did this before in this post with joggers and a blazer.
Blazer and sneakers – this one is my jam. I love a good blazer to pull a look together!
