You guys we have made it to the last step in a Maskcara HAC Pack. We have gone over the concepts of highlighting, contouring and why blush makes a difference. But, lets talk about the benefits of illuminator and why to use it.
WHY
Why do you need to wear illuminator, this is often referred to as highlight with other brands? Illuminator gives you some brightness and a hint of shimmer. Now, I’m not talking about that glittering glow you see at the kids carnival, but a nice youthful glow that looks natural. It will add a nice dimension to your face, almost like you’re glowing from the inside, which you totally will be!Also, you don’t want to appear flat and by applying illuminator you can add some easy depth.
WHERE
When applying illuminator take a look at your face in natural light. Everywhere you see it hit your face at the highest point, that’s where you apply it. I like to focus on 3 main areas when applying illuminator:
- Above your cheekbone – take your finger and dip it into the illuminator and simply apply it to the top of your cheekbone, focusing on the top part, nearest your eye.
- Center of your nose – dabbing just a touch of illuminator here brings the focus to just the center, allowing the contouring you did in the previous step take affect.
- Cupid’s Bow – add just a little bit of illuminator right at the part of your lip that is directly under your nose, the bow.
- Other spots to place some illuminator are: below your brow, just above the brow near the center and in the center of your lips after applying your lip color.
And that’s it! See how easy that step is?! You really can’t mess it up! This is an easy step but one that just finishes the look off nicely! And you’ll love the youthful glow you’ll see when checking out your beautiful face in the mirror!
