Do you ever go into a makeup section either at a large department store, drug store or even looking online and just start getting overwhelmed? Well I do. I start getting anxious about what to buy, what color do I get, then ultimately going with something and it’s just OK. Well That’s how it use to be for me. I then discovered Maskcara and that’s when my makeup game changed. But, one thing that has remained a constant…My love for color on my lips. I don’t discriminate lipstick, lipgloss, lip stains, tinted chapstick….you get the picture. So today I’m sharing my top four lipsticks I’m loving.
I;ll be honest, I have been moving more towards using natural makeup for a while. Partly because as a nurse I’m seeing so many young people affected by this cancer epidemic that’s happening right now. I am especially conscientious of this when it comes to lipsticks. I mean think about it, it’s right there on the edge of entering body. In fact I recently saw a statistic that said on average women absorb 4 lbs of chemicals from toiletries and make-up every year. And ingest about 7 pound of lipstick in her lifetime…7 pounds!!!!! That’s crazy! So since then I’ve been going more natural, but I still have a few faves that aren’t…oh well I’ll get there!
Top Four Lipcolors
Bareminerals
Bareminerals was my first makeup love. My sister got me into makeup and taught me a little bit about highlighting and contouring with this stuff. But, what I really love is their lipsticks. Now, they don’t make the Moxie lipsticks, which were my faves and I have like 20 different shades. You guys I’m not kidding, I have an entire small travel makeup bag dedicated to my Bareminerals lip colors. They glide on so silky and leave your lips feeling moisturized. I’m not sure what they currently have that’s similar to this, because lately I have been doing the Statement Matte Liquid lipcolors.
The matte lip colors are so pretty, I love the muted tones. However, like almost all matte colors they can be a little drying. I will add a hint of gloss, chapstick or most of the time mix another color on top for moisture. I have my favorite is the color Boss.
Lastly, if you’re just a chapstick girl, then you have to try their Pop Of Passion Lip-Oil Balm. Hands down one of my favorites in the dead heat of Summer, or frozen Winter days to give you both moisture and a pop of color.
Maskcara Beauty
Well you all knew this one would be here. Mostly because I genuinely love all of the shades and their multifunctional use. These little tins not only create the perfect color on your cheeks, but add the perfect amount of pigment to your pout! Bonus feature of these colors that I have been taking full advantage of lately: they are great for on-the go makeup. I dap a little on my eyelids and I have a completed look, eyeshadow and all!
So of the shades are less matte than others, so I typically mix colors, add a gloss or layer with my tinted chapsticks. Colors I love for the lips are Black Cherry, Desert Sunset and Hollywood. Best colors to get most use lip, cheek + shadow is Sandstone, Nude and Baby Watermelon.
Besides the amazing shades of these colors, I love that they fit right into my compact. There’s no digging through a bag trying to find the right color…it’s all just right there. I also love that you can change the colors in your compact frequently depending on mood, season and occasions.

I’ve been using this for a while now and I love the colors. Talk about leaving your lips feel moisturize. I have the lip Creme in Ballerina Slipper, lip glaze in Bubbly and the Lip Velvet in Road Trip. The last one looks bright, but it’s seriously the perfect color for Summer!
If you haven’t tried a brighter, bolder lip then I dare you to try. There is nothing that makes you feel more feminine, powerful and pretty than a bold lip.
