It’s funny, I always say how I wasn’t a blush fan, but you guys I really do love blush. I just can’t explain it…it just gives me LIFE!!! I think I haven’t always been a fan because it always made me look too red or pink. Clearly I wasn’t doing it right or choosing the right color. Also, I think since learning about contouring it gives the blush life and dimension. Anyway, our faces aren’t one dimensional. Why should our makeup be? That just resonates so well with me. I have different colors and tones and shades throughout my face, we ALL do. So that brings me to the point of this post, I wanted to compare what the face looks like with just blush, just contour verse using both together.
No contour on cheeks
Here is a look at just using the Maskcara highlight and contour on my forehead, nose and under my jaw. Without any contour there’s no dimension, the face just falls a little flat.
Just Using Blush
You will notice blush on the apples of my cheeks, but then while blending it out it appears more like a red splotchy patch. It looks nice, but there’s no structure to the cheek bone. My cheeks have some color, but they’re a a little flat.
Just Using Contour
I love the lift and definition the contour gives. But, I feel like there’s no life to it. It looks very strong and gives a ton of structure, which isn’t wrong. Depending on the look you are trying to achieve, this may be just what you need. But, it’s missing that pretty flushed look that brings to a look, in fact it almost looks a little dirty.
Using both Contour + Blush
Uggh, this just gives me life! I love the lift and structure of the contour and flush pink tones from the blush. I just feel more youthful and like I have that radiant glow! The overall look of the face is pulled together. I love the different dimensions the two bring out together.
So what do you think, are you a believer in the power of using blush and contour together to compliment each other. The combination is just so pretty and really brings your face to light. You can see the natural glow of your skin and it really provides that youthful glow and structure!
Thank so much for stopping by! Get Out There and have a Gorgeous day!
