We’ve reached another Friday during this quarantine, and I still can’t decide what that means. Because honestly, every day seems a little like the weekend because we’re ALL home…ALL DAY LONG! Sometimes I love it, and sometimes it drives me crazy, HA. How are you handling it all? Are you managing well, feel like you have a great routine, or are you constantly trying to hide out in your closet or bathroom to get some alone time? Anyway, I know we’re struggling a bit with this new normal so I’m dedicating today’s post to sharing five ways to brighten someone’s day.
A simple act of kindness can go a long way, especially right now. We’re managing a lot, from trying to work, taking care of the kids and homeschooling, keep the house up, cooking, etc… Letting someone know that you’re thinking of them, here for them and supporting them through this time is crucial for our mental and emotional sanity.
I know there are many more ideas than this, so please leave some of your ideas, or things you have done already in the comments below!
Five Ways To Brighten Someone’s Day
Send a gift card, or e-gift card
I love this one! So many have lost their jobs recently and could use something like this. Put some thought to it and send a card that could be used for groceries/household supplies. Or, something like a Hulu e-gift card so they can enjoy catching up on TV series the missed, or finding new movies to watch.
Mail a hand written note or card
Whether you snail mail it, or email it, a thoughtful note is one of the easiest ways to brighten someone’s day. We all need some positive encouragement and affirmation so this is the perfect way to cheer them on.
Send a meal via a delivery service, or the groceries for a home cooked meal
We’re all doing to go out to eat again…well, at least I am anyway, HA! And since we can’t, sending a meal over is a great way to treat them to a takeout meal at home. Or, if you know they love to cook, send ingredients over for something you know they love to cook.
Schedule a video chat, happy hour, workout, etc…
We’re all longing for some kind of connection with others. I have been doing these video chats with friends and coworkers, plus the girls with their friends, and it’s been awesome. Taking that time to chat with someone is like soul refresher. Gives you the boost and break you need to keep going.
Leave encouraging messages around
With everyone spending so much time outside, going for walks and bike rides, why not leave encouraging messages along the sidewalk and streets. Write things like ‘keep going’, ‘you got this’, and other words to let someone know they aren’t alone. Or maybe write a little message on a note and leave them for your neighbors.
There are so many ways to spread kindness, whether it’s right now during this crazy time, or later on when we’re back to normal life and we’re not thinking about it as much.
I’d love to hear your ideas below so we can continue to build this list and spread kindness.
Thank you so much for stopping by and have a great weekend
