Happy Monday Friends!
Last week I was invited to check out SoulCycle in Berkeley and then head to the opening preview of Project Juice’s new location. And let me tell you, it was amazing!!
So something fun about me, before I became a nurse I was working in marketing/PR after I graduated college for a few years. I had the best time because all I did was plan events, go to events and client entertainment….basically make sure they had the opportunity to do cool stuff!! Well, a few years in and I realized how many hours a week that took up and started to question whether those 80 hours a week was for me.
Well, naturally it all came to an end because our economy tanked and of course those that had been there the least amount of years were let go. So while hunting for a new job in the world of impossible, I ended up working for a cycling class start-up. I have to say, it wasn’t my favorite, I tried the spin class out and although the features of it were cool, I just hated spinning. So I vowed to myself I’d never do it again.
Well, I have recently just gotten back in to working out (after a long 1.5 years off after having Amelia…geeez) and decided to give it go when I got the invite.
Have you ever been to a SoulCycle class? I had not and I already had decided I was going to hate it before I even stepped foot in there. Well I made it through the class and it was tough, but you guys…I secretly LOVED it. Now I don’t know if it was the class itself, but the between the music and the instructor (who was soo good) I actually found myself pushing through the pain and wanting to go past my threshold. It was actually pretty exhilarating!
After the class, I headed around the corner for a Sneak Peek of Project Juice’s new Berkeley location. Now, I know there are other PJ locations within San Francisco, but I have never been to one, and OMG….I love it. It was perfect to hit up right after a tough workout class.
