Mother’s Day is one of those holidays that didn’t really become special to me until was sixteen years old. Many of you know, but my dad died of a massive heart attack. It was quick, sudden and left us all in complete shock. To this day it’s one of the worst periods of my life. But, what it taught me was strength, perseverance and determination. Not from dealing with my own grief, but seeing how my Mama survived this. She is the strongest woman I know and I believe she deserves more than a day!
I’ll share more of my story for my Mother’s Day post, but just wanted to touch briefly on the meaning of this holiday to me. I’ve been fortunate enough to have such an amazing role model. She always ensured we had what we needed before her self, she stays up late to hear about our days and never once have I doubted the love she has for me, my siblings and even my own children.
So to chose a a gift for such an amazing and inspiring woman can be hard. So one of the things I usually do is sit down and write her a note/card. As a mom myself this is so special. It’s one of those gifts that’s personal and meaningful. Then I like to try and find something cute to pair with it.
Lately I have been loving all of the new scents and products from Bath & Body Works. My mom loves candles and I can’t remember a time of walking into her house when it doesn’t smell good…Like Home. The candle and wallflowers are such great gift ideas for the home decorating mom. For the homebody Mama, which my mine is definitely not, go for some of the New Happy Vibes + Garden scent products.
Another fun idea is chocolate covered strawberries and cake truffles from Shari’s Berries. These are always a hit with me, my mom and sister. They’re also great because it makes for a great display to have out for your Mother’s Day Brunch. Use Code SOGOOD for 20% OFF your purchase (expires 5/13/2018).
Here are a few other ideas that may be perfect for your mom, sister, aunt or favorite mom you are looking to help make her day feel special.
I’d love to hear some of your favorite gift ideas, along with why you love and appreciate your Mama!
Thanks you so much for stopping by!
