It’s the first Friday in October and the month already seems to be flying by. Time definitely seems to get faster every year, but starting from now until the New Year I feel like we’re constantly in overdrive. Anyone else feel this way? Anyway the weather has cooled down a bit and it’s actually starting to feel like Fall. This time if year is always so fun and full of fun activities and I thought I’d share some Halloween traditions and bucket list for Fall.
Halloween Traditions
From pumpkin patches, to apple picking and all of the fun crafts, there are so many things you could do all month long. We have a few Halloween traditions that we love, but this is our first year in Kansas City since Aria was a baby.
In California we always went to the pumpkin patches, there’s a ton around and they were free to get in, and we would have a day for crafts and painting. Just before Halloween we would also always to the girls’ school party, head to food truck Friday for dinner and head to a big trunk or treat.
Not all of these things are options here in KC so I’m on the hunt for fun things to start our new Halloween traditions. Below I have started a list of Halloween traditions to try this year and see if it’s something we’ll start doing every year or not.
12 Halloween Traditions
- Find a fun trick or treating event around town
- Create haunted gingerbread houses
- Halloween Scavenger hunt – I think I may try this one
- Costume dinner
- Pumpkin patch and hay ride
- Read Halloween books
- Watch Hocus Pocus (my girls love this movie)
- Go check out Halloween decorations at night
- Halloween parade
- Host a Halloween party
- Make halloween decorated desserts
- Decorate pumpkins – non carving style
If you’re looking for more Fall activities outside of just Halloween, here is my Fall Bucket List. I also have ideas for 10 budget friendly Fall activities that you can do wit the kids as well.
Trying to figure out your favorite activities is all about trial and error, right?! What are some of your Halloween traditions? I’d love to get a good list going so we can all have something to refer back to later when we need a good idea!
Hope you have a great Friday and thanks for stopping by!
