Secrets out guys, I only wash my hair twice a week. On the rare occasion there might be a third day. The reason I don’t wash my hair frequently is because it dries it out, and it’s not healthy for it, AND my hair holds a curl better when it’s a little dirty. Plus, I do have extensions in my hair (for volume, not length) and they just can’t be washed a ton.
So you maybe thinking, how do you go so long between washes and not have gross, greasy hair? Well there’s this beautiful thing called dry shampoo. I think it’s the best thing since sliced bread…HaHa. Anyway, I have been trying out different brands for a few years now. I’ve tried everything from Suave to MoroccanOil.
The lastest product I have been using is the Style Sexy Hair H2No. This is a lightweight and layerable dry shampoo that helps keep you hair fresh for up to 3 days. I have found that it helps keep that fresh shine to my hair and really does extend the life of my hair.
Here is a short video showing you how I incorporate Sexy Style Dry Shampoo, and curl my hair with my straightener. Below is more details on the steps I do on a daily bases between washes to help keep my hair looking fresh.
Steps For Using Dry Shampoo to Extend Your Hair
Dry Shampoo – Section your hair and hold the Sexy Style Dry Shampoo about 4-5 inches away from the root. Spray the section and move to the next. Continue until you have covered your roots, be sure to get the underneath sections at the base of your head (this area can show oil pretty easily, especially if you wear it up).
Blow Dry + Brush – You don’t have to blow dry, you can simply work the product in with your fingers, but I love the results better if I use the blow dryer. Not sure if this is truly correct, but I find the dry shampoo picks up the oil better when I do this, an I work it in with my fingers during this step to ensure I get all areas.
Style Hair – I generally wear my hair in loose curls. I use my straightener to curl because my hair holds the curl so much longer this way. Any time I’ve used a curling iron or wand, it goes flat within an hour or two….is this just me, or does anyone else find that too?
What dry shampoo do you love? I’m always looking for new products to try, Please comment below so I can check them out!

I think I’ve tried basically every dry shampoo out there too to be honest and although the closest to a good one I’ve come is one from Moroccan Oil, but I wouldn’t say it’s perfect, not even close, so I’m thrilled to try this brand out, especially when it has such an intriguing name, haha.

I am a big lover of dry shampoo! I have never tried the blow drying trick though, so I definitely need to try this. I feel like it would give a little more volume.

I am not quite familiar with the subject… I am honest here… but it sounds great. And I have to try it
Yess my hair gets greasy if I don’t wash it for a day – I never thought to use dry shampoo though! I never knew. I think this is something I def have to look into – I’ve given up a couple of times previously because I was always afraid of greasy hair! Thank you so much for sharing!

I don’t actually use dry shampoo ever so I don’t have any dry shampoo faves. I do three hours of powerlifting then conditioning/HIIT training every day so it’s important for me to wash my hair daily. I’ve heard others only wash their hair weekly so to each their own xx

Believe it or not, I only wash my hair once a week or once every 2 weeks (sometimes longer than that haha). The next time I do this, I may try the dry shampoo trick! Perhaps I can end up going a month without washing ๐
I’m just like you in that I don’t like to wash my hair often. I was it max twice a week, but try to even stretch it out to once a week if I can! It can be a real struggle sometime but with lots of dry shampoo and styling tricks you can make it happen and it’s soooo much better for your hair. It was great reading your tips ๐
