Being a mother is one of the hardest jobs there is. There is so much doubt, fear and times of failure. There are moments when you feel like you just can’t handle anymore. Trust me, I have been there more times than I’d like to admit. But I refuse to loose myself to motherhood.
As moms, whether working or stay at home, we need something for ourselves. We need something that is just for us. Something that is fun, freeing and helps us build a community of support around us.
I recently opened up on my Instagram Stories about how I’m actually very shy, struggle with networking in social situations and handling the the pressures of everything around us. But I have found my sisterhood, an amazing group of women that helps me be creative. Has helped me changed my personal views of myself and form a little business while doing it.
Maskcara found me when I needed it the most.
My Maskcara Story
I was a full-time working mom as an ICU nurse, blogging full-time, and about to start injecting BOTOX and Fillers part time. I was managing two kids under 4. Constantly cleaning up crumbs, spilled milk, finding gooey things in weird places around the house all while maintaining my marriage.
Before I was a nurse I was in charge of Event Planning and Client Entertainment. I used to getting all dolled up before going into the office or an event. I took the time to get ready, like hair and makeup everyday.
But when time was non-existent after kids, I found myself settling because, “I am a mom and no one sees me anyways”. Or worse… “I am married already so why put makeup on anymore?”
Yep, those thoughts always crossed my mind, and ladies….I KNOW I’m not alone in that. We get so busy taking taking care of others, making sure they have what they need, that we forget ourself. And loose ourselves in the process.
When I first tried Maskcara 2 years ago, I’ll be honest it was different than anything I had ever done with my makeup. Mostly because I am no makeup artist.
Once my makeup arrived there was a little bit of a learning curve, but I picked this up within a few days. And, the more I used it, the more I noticed a difference in my overall attitude towards the day-to-day grind.
But really, I not only saw the glow it gave me, I felt it. It made me believe that I was beautiful; even after the makeup was washed off my face.
I feel transformed in the most positive way. Not covering or hiding my face, but accentuating the features I have and being proud of the woman and mom I have become.
So to me, this is NOT JUST MAKEUP. It is NOT JUST ANOTHER MORNING ROUTINE.
It has become a way for me to wake up and do that ONE THING FOR MYSELF that makes me charged, happy, and ready in the easiest way possible. Putting on this makeup and getting ready even if it’s just my face is a game changer for me as a busy mom.

Thank you so much for stopping by and hearing my story.
