I don’t know about you, but our weather this Fall has been all over the place. We have been experiencing temps anywhere from 70 degrees up to 95 degrees. I feel like the temps are like us….just can’t make up its mind. Taking your shorts into Fall is a way to extend the summer months, yet still embracing the cooler temps.
One way I have learned to combat this crazy weather is learn how to style my shorts for fall. This is also a perfect way to wear those shorts you just purchased at an end of season sale and start wearing them right away before storing away until next year.
Three Ways To Style Your Shorts Into Fall
- A chunky knit
For those cooler days, especially those that start cool in the morning and warm up a little later in the afternoon. This is the perfect way to stay warm/cool at the same time. You can pair this with sneakers, booties or even over-the-knee boots, whatever suits your style and the sweater you have chosen.
.
- Blazer + Tee
This is one of my favorite ways to style them. Because it’s layered, you can easily take off a layer as the days temp warms up. I love this blue blazer. I actually bought it last year during the Anniversary Sale. But, a good slouchy boyfriend blazer is a staple and worn season after season. Besides layering over shorts, you can wear it with skinny jeans + booties, with leggings and OTK bots or over a dress. - Long sleeve tee + Vest
A utility vest is a Fall staple and it is perfect with so many outfits. I love to throw it on over a cotton shift dress, with jeans and my new fave way… over a long sleeve tee and shorts. Fall is all about layering. So, just like the blazer, this is the perfect way to add a layer over an otherwise boring look. Adding a vest is a great way to elevate any casual look. It creates that finished, well put together look without a lot of thought.
What is your favorite way to take your shorts into Fall?

Oh hun, I WISH I could use shorts in the fall, but unfortunately cold UK and Swedish temperatures stop me from doing that and I can only adore the styles you present to us here with a slight bit of envy in it to be honest 🙂 I do love your outfits however and wish I get to use shorts soon again!

These are some great outfits for fall! Unfortunately I cannot wear these in Chicago 🙁 Packing all of my summer clothes away tonight actually. So enjoy it for the rest of us!

I cannot wear those in Philadelphia as well but I love the idea, I am a denim fan in every season
I just love your style in all of these photos, but especially your shoes! I love peep toe booties – they look great but are comfortable too. And the suede looks great for Autumn!
Ah I SO wish I could wear shorts right now! It so cold right now in Scotland and I’m afraid no shorts 🙂

That eyelet sweater is all kinds of adorable! Autumn is such an interesting season which is great to have these kinds of transitional pieces ready so you can still rock your fave shorts!

It’s actually pretty simple to wear shorts in the fall here because the temperature is still pretty high. It kind of annoys other people though because all the other bloggers I follow are in actual fall clothing, while I’m still wearing crop tops and short bottoms haha. I love your layering methods for shorts though. Definitely more fall appropriate, while not being too heavy on layers!
Honestly, the weather has been the same in Toronto! It would be super hot one day then freezing the next. Unfortunately now I think the cold weather is here to stay, but I definitely wore my shorts into fall a lot longer this year! Love your tips on how to bring them into your fall wardrobe <3
