So you may have seen my Instastories a couple of weeks ago when I went to Blackhawk Plastic Surgery for my first Hydrafacial. Not even kidding when I say it’s THE BEST kind of facial I have ever experienced with the longest lasting results.

Just before the Hydrafacial began. You can see my sun damaged spots on my forehead. Pay attention to this area later in my post Hydrafacial photos.
First, lets talk about what a Hydrafacial actually is. It’s a non-invasive, multistep treatment that delivers long-term skin health and can be tailored to meet the specific needs of all skin types. It removes dead skin cells and extracts impurities while simultaneously infusing the new skin with cleansing, hydrating and moisturizing serums . Your getting the benefits of next-level hydradermabrasion, a chemical peel, automated painless extractions (no pinching or squeezing) and Antioxidants, Hyaluronic Acid and Peptides.
Sounds pretty awesome right? I mean you can get rid of all that dirt, grime and blackheads without someone squeezing around your nose, pinching spots on your cheeks and chin or using that metal extractor and pushing in on those clogged pores. Instead, a special suction tool is used for the entire treatment.
So you may be thinking, “I don’t have time to fit this into my monthly routine” ….. YES YOU DO. You guys this treatment is so fast, it only takes about 30 minutes and you get instant results. There is no major irritation or redness that last more than a half hour. So we’re only looking at an hour. Yuuup …. ONE hour my friends and you’re left with with more even, hydrated and glowing skin.
So now let’s breakdown the facial into the steps
- Cleansing and Exfoliating: A new layer of skin is uncovered with gentle exfoliation to remove dead skin cells.
- Acid Peel: This is actually a gentle peel that helps loosens dirt and debris in your pores. I did experience small amounts of tingling, but it only lasted for a couple of minutes and was gone once this step was completed.
- Extraction: Ok so here is the best part. Vortex suction is used to completely remove that dirt and debris loosened in the previous step. I LOVED this step because with the light suction you can just feel that icky stuff clearing out of your pores and your face just feels SOO clean.
- Hydration: Antioxidants, Hyaluronic Acid and Peptides are then Vortex-fused into your skin to nourish and hydrate your skin.
- Protection: The “Hydrafacial Essentials” are to maintain and protect the results of your skin after the treatment.
With the thought of exfoliation, peels and extractions you might be worried that this isn’t a treatment for those with sensitive skin….WRONG! You guys this really is a gentle treatment that is made for everyone. Check Blackhawk’s Hydrafacial page to check out a few of their patient’s results that have different skin types and troubles. (There’s also a video at the bottom that shows you what to expect)
So here are the results I experienced after just ONE treatment. I immediately noticed how hydrated and glowing my skin was….And noticed for several days following, I didn’t wear any makeup (with the exception of eyeliner and mascara) for 4 days after having this done.

This is the next day after the Hydrafacial. My skin is still glowing and my forehead is looking much more even than before.
My favorite thing about Blackhawk Plastic Surgery is their VIP Beauty Membership program. They make this stuff affordable my friends! Basically you pay a monthly fee, just like you do for your gym membership, and this goes toward your procedures/treatments so you never have to pay one large sum and make a huge dent in your account. Plus it gives you preferred booking times, member specials, free gifts and invites to VIP parties. The membership is completely customizable to what your needs are…You better believe I signed up for this because the results just can’t be beat! Plus after a few treatments and good skin care routines, my results will continue to get better and better.
I’ll keep you posted after I have a few more facials over the next few months on the progress of my uneven skin.
I’d love to hear your thoughts on facials/Hydrafacials… Do you or have you gotten them?
How often? Are you thinking about any other kind of procedure to improve and even out your skin?
If you’ve ever thought or thinking about getting a Hydrafacial and have questions, PLEASE ask me either by email or leaving a comment. I will give you honest feedback based on my own experience.
Also — If you’re in The Bay Area and have questions about Blackhawk Plastic Surgery specifically, let me know!
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a fantastic week!
I love how you broke down the steps for a hydra facial! I’ve always been curious about them and now that I see how fabulous your skin looks I am definitely going to try it!
