I have to admit, I bought this tulle skirt last year. I was in Francesca’s and the girls were loving it, oooing and awwing over it. I was having a blast shopping there, so I bought it. But honestly, I have not worn it a lot. Part of the reason is because I still needed to loose the baby weight. Plus tulle can be bulky, making you look heavier than you are, therefore intimidating to wear. Is that just me, or does anyone else feel that way?
So I wanted to share what I have learned about tulle skirts. Ok, so here it is (it’s totally groundbreaking you guys!!): wear a more fitted top. Yes, that’s me saying to wear something fitted. Coming from the girl who hates anything too fitted or clingy because I have struggled with me mid-section my whole life. But, that’s besides the point. Here is why I say this, having something fitted and more structured on top gives you curves and a better body shape.
A tulle skirt is typically thick right around that waistband. So wearing anything loose or bulky just adds to that and BOOM, you look heavy (unless your like my sister who can wear anything!! Uggh so lucky). With that said, it is cold outside so adding a layer is totally fine. I added a leather jacket, but you can easily wear a great fur/faux fur or your favorite peacoat. Here are a look at last year’s outfits with this tulle skirt (with booties // with sequin top), but this is by far my favorite way!
