SO I haven’t done a lot of swimsuits here on the blog. Mostly because I have lacked self-confidence in my body after kids. But, also because I don’t always view myself with the most positive outlook. I have talked several times in the past about my struggles with weight, body image and eating disorders.
Honestly, it’s alway been a tough topic for me. However, in the last year I have started to have a shift in my thinking. Maybe it’s all this ‘Body Positive’ talk and seeing women who are much curvier than I have soo much confidence in their own skin.
Whatever it is, I’ve had a huge shift in my own Body Self Talk. I often find myself talking to myself in a negative way. Like complaining to myself about my thick thighs, or that lower tummy area…especially after kids.
I find most of the time our negative views come from ourselves, not anybody else. Why do we do that. We would never just go up to some one and comment on their weight. Well, at least I wouldn’t. So why do we do this to ourselves? I feel like as women we have these crazy standards we’re held too, and if we’re not there then it’s rough.
Anyway, with all of that said here I am sharing one of my styling videos with swimsuits. I found three of the cutest high waist two-piece suits and thought I’d show you how to mix and match them for 9 different looks.
I love being able to mix n’ match, especially for vacations so you feel like you have a lot of different looks. But, I also found some of the cutest Mommy and Me suits from Amazon. I couldn’t resist a cute leopard or flamingo swimsuit chance to match with my girls.
9 Swimsuit looks + 2 Mommy and Me Swimsuits
Leopard Mommy and Me – how cute is this. It can be worn pulled up on the shoulders, or off. It’s super cute and the material does have some structure to it to hold you in. It is a little on the cheekier side.
Black Ruffle Top – so this one came with the black and white striped bottoms, but I had an all black swimsuit from last year that I pair with it for an all black look, and mixed it with the golden yellow bottoms that I recently found from Walmart.
Golden Yellow Top – this is the cutest suit. I found it a few weeks ago when I was shopping for the girls’ Easter basket stuff. I loved the color and knew it would mix and match well with my black swimsuits I already had.
Black Halter Top – you may remember this suit from last year. This was my first high waist swimsuit and after trying this on, I just don’t think I could ever go back. It’s just so flattering. You can USE CODE KALLIE20 for 20% OFF. Making this top only $8 and black high waist bottoms $27.50!
Flamingo Mommy and Me – these are so cute. I’ll be honest though, these came in about a month ago, I put it on and my sister and I both found it unflattering. It is a thin material with not a lot of support. However, I have been working hard in the gym to get summer ready and now it’s super cute! Love the ruffle straps. Also, be sure and size down for your girls, the straps can be a little long.
Toddler Girl Flamingo Swimsuit – Although I don’t have picture for these yet, you can see them in the video up top. The girls love these t-shirt types swim suits, and so do I. I love how they are cute, but not showing too much…keeps them safe in the sun too!
So although I am not perfect when it comes to body shape, figure or even being 100% body positive all the time. I’m making strides to being a more confident women. I mean after all, our bodies do pretty amazing things!
Tell me, are you more of a one-piece or two-piece kind of swimsuit girl? I think I’m a little bit both these days!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
