We moved to the Bay Area a little over a year and half ago and I am loving it. The weather, the activities, the shopping, etc… are so amazing here. I have to admit, the cost of living kind of sucks, but I LOVE everything else, so I guess it evens out.

We are renting our house so I’ve been a little skim on the decorating department, well I would say more on the wall decorating. It’s just a hassle to hang things and I always hate putting a bunch of holes in the wall. I have also become pretty neutral obsessed, doing more of the whites/creams/tans and, because I love both gold and silver things, have mixed both of those in my accent pieces. With that said, I do LOVE color (I mean I pretty much live in bright colorful pieces), but in my house I want them to be more of an accent so I can change things around easily with different seasons and holidays.

Anyway, that was a long way of saying our living room was DESPERATE for something colorful and a piece of art is exactly what I was looking for. I found this awesome watercolor print of San Francisco from Modern Map Art and it was just what I wanted to add that little pop! I also love it because moving here has been our first big adventure and it’s where Amelia was born, so it will always represent this special time in our life!

The colors are so vibrant and I have really been loving it, especially in our neutral space. I found a simple frame on Amazon, then my secret to hanging things is Command Strips. Yep that’s right. I used 4 of the large strips (one on each side) because this hold up to 16lbs. I did this for the two mirrors as well. It’s so nice because if you’re not the best at hanging you can easily move things around without putting a bunch of holes in the wall.

Modern Map Art  also has these cool city grids, I’m thinking I might need the Kansas City one. So, if you’re looking for the perfect way to remember a special trip, your honeymoon, place you got engaged, alma mater, hometown, or anything else, the maps and prints are great.
