Halloween is always such a fun time of year. From decorating to trick or treating and the fun costumes. There’s just something about dressing and coordinating with my my girls that I love. It’s so special and Halloween is no exception. I’ve put together 3 easy and affordable mommy and me Halloween costume ideas.
To keep things simple, I used as many things as I already had, and then went to Amazon and Target for the rest.
Angel/Fairy Costume
This is a classic that’s super easy to put together. For me, I actually just put on the dress I wore for our rehearsal dinner, and used my belt as a hair piece. Genius right!?! I mean Mama’s you’ve got to put that stuff to use when you can.
I found the wings and wand set at Target in their under $5 section and they already had tutus they could wear.
Finally, I bought these cute white leotards from Amazon and we’re all set to go.
Unicorn/Pegasus
Like the previous costume, I found the wings and headband set at Target. I grabbed this 4-pack of tutus bc they were about the same price as just one from other places. Plus my girls love to dress up so I knew they’d get a lot of use out of them.
I also found these super cute pink hair headbands at Dollar General for $1. As well as my unicorn headband for $3.
For me, I found this bodysuit, which is amazing so I’ll probably get other colors, and a simple white midi tutu skirt.
Lady Glitter Sparkles and Poppy
I love this one, it’s just so fun and the girls got a huge kick out of me in this wig. I wore the same white bodysuit, but paired it with these flared pants. Although it’s not her identical outfit, it’s similar and super fun.
For the girl, I grabbed these headbands and the rest is stuff they already had. I used pink long sleeve tops and pants for the pink body, and put on these cute little dress I found at Walmart this Summer.
The key to doing your Mommy and me costumes affordably is first figuring out what you want to be, then creating a plan. Once you have a plan you can shop around your closets and the playroom to see what you already have.
This way you’re only buying what you actually need. Also, remember that it doesn’t have to be perfect, similar is good enough.
I’d love to hear which one is your favorite. If you’ve done a Mommy and Me costume look I’d love to see it. Either link it below or tag me (@kallieflexman) on social when you share it.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you have an awesome start to your week.
