As a mom I am constantly wanting to remember the funny things my girls say and do. If only I could remember to write them down or had them on a recording. Anyone else feel that way? I’m sure as their parent I’m the only ones thinking they’re so cute and funny, but I think we all feel that way about our kids. amiright?? I mean let’s be honest, kids are funny. They come up with the darnedest things. I swear they hear us say or do one thing and then they repeat it and it’s so funny. I think it’s because they sound like little adults and I’m left wondering where in the world my baby went.
Maybe it’s just Mother’s Day on the horizon, but I have been really thinking about motherhood a lot lately. It could be because I have been working a ton and feeling guilty about the amount of time I’ve been spending with the girls. Either way, being a Mom is hard, but it is the most rewarding thing I have ever done. I have had some pretty big accomplishments, but nothing even compares to my girls. They are the best. I love watching their eyes twinkle when they’re learning something new and it clicks. I love to watch them try something over and over again, getting frustrated at times, but never giving up. Encouraging them to go ahead and do the things they are scared to try.
In an effort to remember a few things and have something to refer to later, when my girls are all grown up, I wanted to share a few things. Some are just those moments you just wish time would freeze and you could sit there in that moment forever. But, we can’t. Life continues on, they start growing up and all we are left with are the memories that we have. Some are easier to remember than others, but none the less I want to be in those moments for as long as I can.
Here are a few Mom Musing for you to enjoy. Hopefully you’ll get a little laugh, be reminded of the cute things and really enjoy these moments with your babies. Relish them every chance you get because although there are days that seem to last forever…they don’t and the years keep getting shorter and shorter.
Mom Life Musings
The Snuggles are real. Those days when they’re a little extra tired or maybe not feeling well and all they want to do is snuggle. I secretly do a little celebration dance on these days because they’re so few and far between. I can remember when they’re babies there are times you just wish they’d let you put them down. But, now I feel like I wish they’d linger in my arms a little longer.
Constant Snaking is a real thing you guys. My girls are funny, all they want to do is snack. They go from one to the next. I guess part of it is my fault, because I give it to them. But I am trying to get better about only opening one thing. But, I seriously have to watch them because I have found half eaten bars in the play room, or teddy grahams under the couch.
Only eating the kid five. Most people ask me what I mean when I say kid five. So here they are: mac ‘n cheese, grilled cheese, cheese quesadilla, chicken nuggets and cheese pizza. Catching a theme here? Yep cheese everything. Well, this is ALL Aria will eat. Her only side choice is mandarin oranges and bananas. Who else struggles with this? I have tried several strategies to get her to try new things, including eating one of her five made differently. For example, serving a square pizza vs a round one. Nope, she won’t touch it. It’s a constant battle.
They say and do funny things. The other day before heading home I texted James to find out how Amelia was doing. When I got his text back I about died. This is what he sent “She’s doing better. Amelia is running around the house with her shirt off and Aria is chasing her around saying Amelia you can’t go around showing everyone your boobs.” You guys, I was rolling, in fact I’m laughing out loud as I type this.
Well, these are just a few things. What are some of your Mom Life Musings? I’d love to hear your favorite things about being a mom, or the funny things your kids do!
Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you all Get Out There and have a Gorgeous week!
As a mother of two girls, I could attest to this! ha! Anyway, love your white shirt picks, so simple, yet so chic.
