Alright it’s Monday people, and instead of having the Monday blues…I say let’s grab a big cup of coffee and kick it in the butt! I use to dread Monday’s because it was the middle of my work week (as a nurse I use to work Sunday, Monday and Tuesday) and that middle shift was always the hardest.
But, for now I’m not currently working shifts and Monday has become my favorite days of the week. I always feel refreshed and re-energized. I always have a few goals to knock out each week, whether I get those done or not is a different story, Ha.
But at least they’re there. It’s a good step for me because all of a sudden in the past few months I feel like I’m loosing it. Things have been chaotic since the move. I’m forgetful, which has never been the case because I can usually remember everything!
Now I’m trying to rediscover a good system for work and family balance. I feel like this is always a constant battle for Moms. We try and be there for everyone else, ensuring they have it all, but also try and do it all for ourselves.
But, while trying to do our own things outside of being mom can often give you that Mom Guilt Feeling. Like should I really be doing this, or that? What if I miss tuck in time? To me the thought of missing bedtime tuck-in is the worst feeling.
Than is my favorite part of ever single day. Aria is always much more open to talking and have these real and honest conversations about school, her day and having those ‘Mother Daughter Chats’ about any and everything! With Amelia she’s FINALLY CALM and full of snuggles.
But, on the flip side I also feel like I have so much for energy and rejuvenated when I step away, even if it’s just for an hour or so. I often regret not taking a small amount of time throughout the week to myself.
I’ve learned it’s just good for my mental health, my soul and how much better of a Mom and Wife I am when I do it.
So Mama’s, give yourself permission to take some time for yourself. Remind yourself every Sunday night to plan something this week for yourself. Make yourself a priority for at least an hour every week, maybe even 10 minutes every day.
I look at it like not only house and closets need some Spring Cleaning, but so do we!
I’d love to hear what you have planned for yourself this week! Comment below so we can all help and work together to support each other in our self care journey!
Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope your week starts of as strong as your coffee today!
This is sooo on point dear, and I couldn’t agree more. Indeed, we all need some time for ourselves.
