Ok so let’s be honest for minute. As an influencer there are often times so many pressures to keep up with what everyone else is doing. Especially if you’re in the fashion space. You often feel like you have to buy something new all the time because you can’t wear something more than once. There’s this pressure you put on yourself to buy the latest and great trends, or the newer version of something that came out this year. For example, how many times have you heard “These black booties are such a staple, they’ll last you for years!” But, then a month or so later theirs a NEW HOT bootie out and the struggle is do I buy it, can I find a dupe for it?
It’s a constant battle. I’ll be honest, it gets quite expensive after a while too. As least at the beginning when you’re not collaborating with brands or boutiques yet. For me, I also found myself early one buying things just for photos and never wearing again. Because heaven forbid we be seen in the same outfit! Well, at least that’s what you end up telling yourself. Or if you are wearing something you have already posted you ask yourself “can I be seen in my stories in ?” The answer IS AND SHOULD always be YES.
I am a regular person, and I have my favorite go-to items just like everyone else. In the past year I have really come to this realization and let me tell you, it has taken so much pressure off. There are so many things I buy that I actually love and like to wear again and again. So that’s what this post is all about. Taking the time shop your own closet. Re-wear your favorites pieces but learning to style them differently to maximize your closet.
So, here’s the fun part! I’ve teamed up with my friend Julie, Casually Jules, who also has this passion to maximize your closet. We’re starting a new challenge to encourage us, and you, to Shop Your Closet. The idea is to take the latest trends and see how you can get it with what you already have. Don’t get me wrong, we still love to shop and will be buying new things here and there. But, know that our goal here is to help inspire you with outfit ideas that are easy, and accessible. I will still be linking up my outfits, but with the expectation that it may not be the exact item. So we will always share with you similar items.
We hope you join us each week and inspire others by sharing your looks.
2. We ask that you tag or link back to that weeks post so we can see the awesome outfits you’re creating:

I think that is a realistic idea! Love the challenge!
This is so on point dear, and I couldn’t agree more. It’s a constant battle indeed. Anyway, I sooo love this look, especially the jeans and the booties combo.
