This week has been such an exhilarating week. I started implementing new strategies for my blog and social media accounts and it has me re-motivated and ready to take on this third quarter grind. This is probably boring to you, but I just feel so rejuvenated and have been coming up with some fun content ideas for you this fall.
One thing I want to ensure is I’m creating these posts with a purpose. Not that I wasn’t before, just want to ensure that everything here is going to help you in some way. Whether it be something Motherhood, Fashion, Beauty or traveling related. Most of the time I share a tip, how-to, sale finds etc…but I want to start driving conversations with you guys. I want to hear more about your thoughts, your tips and tricks, or what sales you love to shop.
Anyway, I want to move on and share a couple of fun events I went to the past couple of weeks. It started with a date night with James last weekend. We went to a Lobster Bake at Darci Kent Vineyards in Livermore (more here here and here) as part of their Taste Our Terrior event. It was so nice to get out without the girls and really enjoy a dinner, meet some new friends, like Ashley who also lives in my area, and just relax for a few hours. We don’t do this often enough, but it’s always just what we need to re-spark our marriage and give us that time we need to reconnect.
Next, I went to this amazing preview for a Pop-Up that’s happening here in San Francisco Aug 5-9, That Lady Thing. I’ll admit, I secretly dread going into the city. The traffic is rough, I mean it’s only 26 miles but takes a minimum of an hour to get there. But, to contradict that, once I’m there I love it. The vibe, colors and eclectic nature is so fun. That Lady Thing explore gender bias through fun, interactive exhibits. They let you play, but makes you think..for instance even in female-dominated fields, men still make more money for the same work! What? We need to bridge these gaps and start believing, trusting and investing in ourselves. If you’re in the Bay Area definitely check this out. If not, they’ll be Popping-Up in a few other cities this year!
So today’s tip is to invest in yourself. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE being a mom. It’s my favorite thing of all the things that I do. In fact, I don’t do a lot of things because I don’t want to miss out on something with my kids. But, taking time for yourself is so important. You need that time to recharge, remember who you are without kids. They will grow up and it’s important to have an identity outside of them. So this weekend and over the next week, take some time to yourself, even if it’s just 10 minute. Think about what you love, read a book, do a quick workout or whatever…Just do something!
I love finding and getting inspiration from you. You guys are just as much of an expert in these areas as I am, or really any other blogger for that matter. So lets start talking and sharing these together. I’d love for you to leave a short note whenever you stop by and read a post. Let know what you’re thoughts are on the post, if you have ideas, tips and tricks on the topic and most importantly please let me know if there is any topic you me to talk about!
Thank you so much for stopping by! Get Out There and have a Gorgeous weekend!
