I would say I wear skinny jeans 98% of the time. I’ve thought about this and don’t really know why that is. I mean, every time I wear flared jeans I fall in love with them all over again. I pulled them out recently to pair with the cutest plaid jacket and now I want to wear them a ton.
However, I have to admit, wearing them can be pretty tricky. I sometimes struggle with what top to wear. Probably because I have this thought that flared jeans require something a little more fitted and structured. But, really that is not the case. They are great for layering, especially if you want to add a little Boho vibe to your style.
I have put together a few tips and tricks I keep in mind when putting together an outfit with flared jeans. It can be as simple as a tee and jeans, or as fun as adding several Boho layers.
Tips For Wearing Flared Jeans
Keep it simple. Keeping your top half simple lets the flared jeans (or trousers) stand out.
Wear them with a chunky heel, platform or flatforms. This helps elongate your legs and it also keeps the hem nice.
If you are a flats wearing kind of girl, then crop your flares.
Play with volume. A three-quarter-length trench coat or cardigan can enhance the fluidity of the pants silhouette.
Don’t be afraid to layer. Layering a sweater over a button down looks less preppy over flared jeans.
Make it casual with a vintage tee and leather or suede jacket.
I’d love to hear your thoughts on flared jeans? Do you wear them, are they your thing? What are your tips and tricks for wearing them?
Thank you so much for stopping by and hope you have a great day!

I have to admit I’m the same as you! I prefer skinny as they’re so easy to wear, but as soon as I put on flares I feel more elegant! It’s the silhouette that they gives us!
