Wheeew we’re half way through the week and tomorrow is February. Seriously, where has January gone? I feel like it’s come and gone so quickly. Anyone else feeling this way? Today, I’m switching gears. I’m talking all about dads for Valentine’s Day + Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas For Dads.
I love Valentine’s Day. I love the idea behind it, like really taking a day to remember and acknowledge why and what you love about your significant other. A lot of people say “you should be doing this all the time, not just one day!”
I have to say, I don’t disagree with that at all, but you know how it is. Life happened and we all get busy. We get so wrapped up into our daily grind that we may not remember to take a minute and truly tell your partner you love them. I mean really love them. Sure you’re in the habit of saying every day, almost on que. But when you say it daily are you truly saying it and meaning it? If you not usually around Valentine’s Day you get over taken by the the idea of the holiday that you remind yourself these things.
For me, I’m reminded at how lucky we are that James works from home. He is around a lot, meaning he helps with the kids so much and I’m so appreciative of the help he provides. For example, on the days I work I’m gone for 13 hours. He gets them up, fed and off to school. Then he picks them up, feeds them dinner and gets them ready for bed before I get home. On top of that, he usually has stuff for dinner out and ready to go. I’m not saying our relationship is perfect by any means. But I do try and let him know how appreciated he is.
Anyway, in the spirit of the holiday I’m sharing a few gift ideas for Dads. I love the idea of getting functional things. This messenger bag is actually a diaper bag. It’s perfect for dads, especially those dads with girls. Instead of having him carry around our pink diaper bag he gets his own bag that’s definitely more on that manly side. I also like great pullovers, sneakers or anything golf related is great too.
