You guys I’m so excited to write this post. You all know I have been to a ton of different wineries between the local wine countries here, Santa Barbara and have been to 25+ places in the Willamette Valley. I have yet to do a post on the Willamette. Likely because we went there before I started blogging and my photos are a little blaah. Anyway, my point is I have only been to one place where you can sit and see endless sky, at least until this weekend at a family friendly wine experience Sophie James Vineyards.

Sophie James sits on the top of Sonoma Mountain, it’s about 2,300 feet up. It’s said to give views of the Pacific Ocean, Mt. Tamalpais, San Francisco, the Bay, Mt. Diablo, Sonoma Valley, Mt. St. Helena and even the foothills of the Sierra Nevada’s on a clear day. One of the prettiest things I’ve seen on Sophie James’ Instagram is how they sit above the Bay Area Fog line…it literally looks like your walking on the clouds. It’s truly breathtaking!

About Sophie James Wines
Sophie and James are from the the Bay Area and in their twenties they decided to leave their jobs in the city and move to a country property on the Sonoma Mountaintop. They fixed up the house, introduced the best farming practices to the land and began their passion project. They only have 5 acres of Pinot Noir planted in ancient volcanic soil and clay loam, the production goes exclusively to wine club members with a portion of the grapes being sold to Flowers Winery for use in their Sonoma Coast Pinot. Sophie James wine is a product of all organic farming. The grapes are only exposed to upstream, mountaintop, natural spring water. Meaning the grapes and the wine are mountain pure.
If you’re a local to the Bay Area, or really anywhere kind of close, then you’re in luck. Sophie James is only available by joining their Tribe, membership. However, this is pretty exclusive because they want to keep it small, manageable and an intimate experience. Therefore, membership is by invitation only from either an existing member or from their wait list. Doesn’t this just make you WANT IN?? I know I do! I mean it’s one of the only ways to access to the wine, and this gorgeous property. Unless you can get in on one of their events.
Events At Sophie James
The best way to get in on one of their event, which you don’t want to miss, is to join the club. But, if you know someone in the club they can also bring you along as their guest to these exclusive affairs. Events they host are having guest chef sunset dinners, annual summer harvest parties and pick-up parties. You will also receive invitations to Sophie James Tribe dinner parties in San Francisco, Marin and Sonoma for food and wine pairings at Sophie & James’ favorite restaurants.
Other fun events hosted are more casual, and family friendly. This Saturday was all about bringing the family to enjoy the views, the wine and some good tacos from Tacolicious. It was also National Rose Day, so walking into the event I was greeted with a glass of that to get the afternoon started. The girls and I had so much fun. The girls loved playing by the pool, running around and grabbing a blanket and enjoying the beautiful weather. I wanted to just hang out all day. It was truly a magical experience.
I love that Sophie James committed to delivering an intimate, memorable, and one of a kind experience to it’s members. The wines are so good and I think you definitely need to check them out. Because the opportunities to taste these wines are limited, be sure to follow along on their Instagram page to find out what events are coming up so you can try these wines.
Thank you so much for stopping by. Now, Get Out There and have a Gorgeous week my friends!
