Denim is a closet staple. We all practically live in it all year around, from jeans and shorts to tops and dresses. It’s the perfect neutral and way to create everyday casual looks. Whether you dress up your denim with a skirt or dress and cool statement necklace, or wear it super casually in ripped jeans or cutoffs and a tee. Denim meets everyone’s style and fits into any lifestyle.
Because it’s such a necessity, I’m answering my most asked questions on wearing denim.
Can I wear denim head to toe?
Yes! This look has once again resurfaced and is bigger than ever. From denim and chambray shift dresses to maxi dresses to jumpsuits; or pairing a denim shirt over jeans or layering a denim jacket with a jeans and tee. There are so many shades and options the possibilities are endless.
My tip for wearing denim on denim is to pair different shades together, for example a light colored denim top over a pair of dark washed jeans. Add in a pump and a statement necklace and you look put together, yet you’re still comfortable in your jeans.

How to wear coated denim?
So coated denim is still around and it is such a great way to change up your typical style and get out of your norm. I will say, these can be a little tricky, they tend to give an edgier vibe so I suggest pairing with a graphic tee, pumps or booties and a small crossbody bag.
What do I wear with boyfriend jeans?
Oh boyfriend jeans are perfect to wear with a tee and sneakers for running around, then you can change over to cute flats or pumps for dinner. I love loose, relaxed fit of BF denim. I mean they’re perfect for those nights out you over indulge in food and drinks because they give you a little room. A great way to style these for fall is a long sleeve tee and long vest, it’s casual, warm and totally makes you look well put together
Distressed vs Non Distressed…When to wear them?
So distressed and ripped denim are ALLLLLLLLLLLL the rage right now. I mean anymore I rarely even like paring a top over jeans that don’t have some rips. I just think they add some interest to what otherwise might be a boring outfit. With that said, you do need a great pair of non-distressed jeans. These are perfect to wear to the office, great for those restaurants that are business smart dress and nice to have for those dressier tops and pumps.
